Not necessarily. If your child has completed a comprehensive speech-language evaluation within the past 12 months, we are happy to review the report to determine whether additional testing is needed. If the evaluation provides sufficient information, therapy may begin without repeating the assessment. If updated testing is recommended, we'll explain why and work with you to determine the best next steps.

Leading Speech Therapy is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide individualized, child-centered care without many of the limitations imposed by insurance plans. We are happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

We believe children learn best in environments where they feel comfortable and engaged. Therapy is offered in a variety of settings based on your child's individual needs and goals, including homes, schools, community settings, and our farm-based therapy location. We work with families to determine the most appropriate setting to support meaningful learning and carryover into everyday life.

Every therapy session is individualized to meet your child's unique strengths, interests, and goals. We use play-based, evidence-based therapy along with a variety of specialized techniques to create engaging and meaningful learning opportunities. Depending on your child's needs, sessions may include movement, sensory-based activities, motor learning principles, AAC, oral motor or feeding therapy, visual supports, social interaction, and caregiver coaching. Therapy is always tailored to support meaningful progress in everyday life.

Parents and caregivers play an essential role in therapy. We believe the greatest progress occurs when skills are supported beyond the therapy session, so we prioritize collaboration, education, and practical strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines. Together, we celebrate successes, problem-solve challenges, and work toward meaningful goals that matter most to your family.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Therapy frequency is determined based on your child's strengths, areas of need, goals, and daily communication demands. Following the evaluation, we'll recommend a treatment plan designed to support meaningful progress while considering your family's schedule and priorities. Recommendations are reviewed regularly and adjusted as your child grows and develops.
